When I was in eighth grade i was the star of my recreational soccer league, so going into highschool I was not only expecting great things, but I was expected by others to do great things. Despite this revelation that I was, in fact, a terrible singer, I still wanted to participate in some type of musical performance and decided to join the band in middle school, short essay on my talent. After trying out various different instruments, I settled on the flute and quickly fell in love.

I knew that in my tenure as drum major, I would need to have a stable mind in order to be effective and have a possible impact on the band but I truthfully did not care. The only thing I cared about was my own personal benefit and the perks that I would receive due to my rank.
This scholarship is a wonderful opportunity for students of GVSU, and I am honored to be considered for this scholarship. I believe that I am a great applicant for this scholarship, and that I deserve this scholarship.
